This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a broad range of managerial functions within tourism operations. You will be confidently able to create international fares and tickets, including e-tickets, and professional itineraries, working on Galileo, a travel industry-based computerised reservations system. You will also possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate the work of self or a team.

The qualification focuses on fares, ticketing, and tourism operations, combining theoretical and practical training in both general business and travel processes. You will graduate with a strong understanding of the operational functions of a typical business within the retail travel sector and the ability to confidently create international fares and tickets, including e-tickets, and professional itineraries, working on Galileo, a travel industry-based computerised reservations system.
After achieving this qualification, you may choose to either enter the workforce, or to continue your vocational education and training studies by undertaking a Diploma of Tourism.

Individuals with this qualification are able to work in the retail travel sector, including retailers that cover or specialise in leisure, corporate, domestic and international sales. At this level, retail travel personnel can operate in domestic or international sales and this qualification allows for both. You will be able to confidently create international fares and tickets, including e-tickets, and generate professional itineraries, working on Galileo, a travel industry-based computerised reservations system.
After achieving this qualification, you may choose to either enter the workforce, or to continue your vocational education and training studies by undertaking a Certificate IV in Tourism.
