Career planning and job search skills

Searching for the right job can be difficult and confusing, so it is important that you have a clear focus and direction.  We provide:

• Assistance in applying for jobs 
• Counselling services and careers research guidance 
• Help with career planning, for example: To determine what experience, education or training you need;  Advice on self-improvement, particularly interpersonal and social skills

Our presentations and workshops on job search techniques ensure that you are familiar with the key principles involved in this important process.

Each campus displays an extensive list of job advertisements for full-time and part-time employment so you won't miss the right opportunity for you.
  

Stand out résumés and cover letters

Your résumé and cover letter are the key to getting that all important interview.

We’ll assist you in producing résumés and cover letters that are relevant to your experience, and which are tailored to the jobs you want to apply for.    
  

Perfect your interview skills

If you are prepared for your interview properly, your confidence will show, your performance will improve and your chances of getting the job will increase dramatically.

We’ll teach you how to respond to tough questions and coach you on interview performance.

Our highly successful role play and rehearsal interviews are also an extremely effective of method of ensuring that you’re fully prepared.
 

Advice on the employment market

We provide you with up-to-date and relevant advice on trends in the employment market, for example, work expectations, jobs you are qualified for and current industry developments.  Not to mention open days and advisory speeches from industry.  
  

Part-tme job seekers

In some cases you’ll need specialised qualifications such as the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) for bar work, or a Barista course for making and serving coffee.  We can refer you to quality training providers to ensure you’re able to present the right qualifications to would be employers.
